Five children aged 8 to 17 died in an accident in New York: a 16-year-old was driving

Five children were killed in a car accident in Scarsdale in the early hours of March 19. Only a 9-year-old boy who was riding in the trunk survived, reports New York Post.
The 16-year-old was driving a group of his siblings and cousins home from the mall. He lost control of a Nissan Rogue on Hutchinson River Parkway just after exiting Mamaroneck Road around 12:30 pm and crashed into a tree. As a result, the SUV caught fire.
Policemen suggest that the teenager may have fallen asleep at the wheel. The driver, three other boys and a girl, all aged 8 to 17, from the small town of Derby, Connecticut, were killed.
“Lord Jesus, I don’t understand why you had to take our children away from us,” she wrote on Sunday in his heartbreaking Facebook post Nicole Cross. She said she was the mother of some of the young victims.

“Please give us strength, Lord God,” Cross said. “These kids don’t deserve this, why is this happening. Please support my family in your prayers. We don't know what to do or how to deal with it. Please help us".
In the message on Facebook Anthony Billips, the father of some of the dead children, wrote "the most painful message I've ever had to write in my life."
“Six children were in the car, only one survived. The pain we feel cannot be expressed in words. And we wouldn't want that to happen to anyone in this world,” Billips said.
On Sunday, they launched a gofundme.com fundraiser to “help bury children” and “do them a great service.”
Westchester Police spokesman Kieran O'Leary described the horrific accident.
“A short distance from [the exit] the car crashed into a tree and caught fire,” he said.
According to a police spokesman, the 9-year-old boy who survived the accident was sitting in the cargo compartment of the car at that moment.
“He got out somehow,” O'Leary said. The rest died in the car.
“Unfortunately, they are all either teenagers or younger,” O'Leary said.
The 9-year-old was taken to Westchester Medical Center to be treated for injuries. He is in stable condition.
