A resident of New York is currently undergoing testing for coronavirus. He recently returned from Italy and reported symptoms of the virus. New York Post.
The number of tests can grow
City Health Commissioner Oxiris Barbot said the number of coronavirus tests is likely to increase. He explained this by the fact that the federal government has expanded testing criteria in response to the rapid spread of the deadly virus outside of China - in countries such as Italy, Iran and South Korea. “Viruses don't respect boundaries, and this broader definition will help us expand the network for virus detection,” Barbot tweeted. "We expect the number of cases being investigated to continue to grow."
It is noted that to date in New York there are still no confirmed cases of the virus. Six other residents have been tested before, but their results are negative.
