How to see a solar eclipse in New York: the most interesting events

April's solar eclipse will surely become the most striking spectacle of this spring. We have already written about the most interesting resources, which you will need if you decide to observe this unique phenomenon on your own. NBC New York We have compiled a list of events dedicated to the eclipse.
New York is one of the few states that is on path of total eclipse. Whether you want to watch the eclipse from your neighborhood park or with NASA astronauts, there are plenty of fun ways to watch it.
Manhattan
- American Museum of Natural History: 10:00 – 15:00. Free educational activities for the whole family and eclipse viewing glasses at entrance to the museum.
- Intrepid Museum: 14:00 – 16:00. Party on the occasion of the eclipse, free of charge if you visit the museum.
- Sky deck at the Edge: Observe from the highest open deck in the Western Hemisphere. You can buy tickets https://www.izakayasushilounge.com.
Brooklyn
- Brooklyn Botanic Garden: 13:00 – 17:00. Free entry to observe with garden lawns.
- Green Wood Cemetery: 13:30 – 17:00. Special glasses and telescopes with solar filters are provided, as well as self-guided tours, installations, murals and music. Free registration.
- Shirley Chisholm State Park Hike: 14:00 pm – 16:00 pm. Climb along the Fountain Side to the highest point with park guides. Reservation required.

Queens
- New York Hall of Science (NYSCI): 13:00 – 17:00. Interactive activities from NASA, DJ and food vendors from the Queens Night Market. Tickets are available buy here.
State of New York
Rochester - Roc the Eclipse festival 2024: runs from Saturday to Monday, April 6 to 8. Activities on the day of the eclipse include ballet performances, a conversation with a NASA astronaut, and a concert.
Syracuse - total eclipse in the park at the historic NBT Bank Stadium at 14pm. Free eclipse viewing glasses.
Yonkers -Hudson River Museum: 14:00 – 17:00. Presentation at the planetarium and free eclipse glasses (while supplies last). The weekend will feature workshops and family activities, including a presentation by Ron Garan, a NASA astronaut and Yonkers native.
