Mass shooting in Buffalo kills at least 10 people

At least 10 people have died in a shooting outside a Tops Friendly Market supermarket in Buffalo, New York. Writes about it The Guardian.

Buffalo police said the alleged shooter is in custody.

The two officials were not allowed to speak publicly about the matter and did so on condition of anonymity.

It is unclear how many more people may have died or been injured. The identity of the shooter has not been released.

The supermarket is in a residential area, next to the market is the Family Dollar store and the fire station.

Mayor Byron Brown arrived on the scene.

New York Gov. Kathy Hokul tweeted that she is "closely following the shooting in Buffalo," her hometown. She noticed that the officials offered help to the local authorities.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office said on social media that it has instructed all available personnel to provide all possible assistance to the Buffalo Police.
