Heavy rainfall, which can reach 5 cm, is expected from Yeats to Otsego counties. Given the recent rains from Hurricanes Henry and Ida, heavy downpours could cause water to accumulate on roads and flood small streams, the weather service said.
The average temperature for the week and next weekend will be 26 degrees Celsius. It's too warm for September in New York. The average high for mid-August is around 23 degrees Celsius.
With the exception of Monday, the humidity will also rise, reaching 80% on most days.
Heat and humidity increase the chance of thunderstorms. The chance of rain and thunderstorms will be between 30% and 40% every day this week.
