A 'drunken' woman was put in a taxi in New York: in fact, she turned out to be dead

A taxi driver in Queens picked up a passenger on the morning of August 17 and was told that the woman was drunk. He was shocked when he discovered that the passenger was actually dead. An amazing story was told by the publication New York Post.
A man unidentified by the police stopped a taxi and asked the driver to drive a woman, whom he described as “drunk,” at an address on Avery Avenue in Flushing.
But when the driver arrived at his destination, a friend of the passenger approached the car and noticed that the woman was unconscious.

A taxi then took the woman and her friend to New York Presbyterian Hospital. There, according to police, doctors pronounced her death at 5:49 am.
The city medical examiner will determine the cause of death. Police said they were investigating.
