Quarantine romance: a couple from New York conquered the Network with their resourcefulness

In a series of clips originally posted on social networking site TikTok, Jeremy Cohen documented his recent dates with a neighbor he calls a "quarantine cutie." However, the restrictions imposed in New York in connection with the coronavirus pandemic forced him to get creative with organizing a date.

How it all began

One day, seeing his neighbor dancing on a nearby roof, Cohen waved to her from the balcony, and she waved back. He wanted to give her his number, so he wrote the numbers on a piece of paper, glued the sheet to the drone and sent it to her. An hour later, she wrote him a message.

“Flirting usually scares me, but since I spent a week in quarantine in my apartment, I have craved companionship,” Cohen said in the video.

Many things became unavailable due to quarantine. But a date doesn't have to be one of them, Cohen said. Therefore, the next step was the first date of the couple.

Since restaurants in New York are also quarantined, Cohen arranged a dinner in the distance: he ate on his balcony, while his neighbor on the roof opposite. “The date was going well. Depending on how long this quarantine lasts, I may be in a distant relationship with someone who lives across the street from me, ”Cohen said.

However, Cohen sought to see the girl in person, which meant that the time had come for "the boldest step." In order to meet his companion, adhering to the principles of social distance, he climbed into a transparent plastic ball and went to meet on the sidewalk.

“I brought flowers and hand sanitizer. But it was a mistake, considering that I was locked inside this ball, ”he added.

They walked and chatted before the police stopped them. The lovers managed to avoid trouble, as the officers saw their story in the news.

After his post became viral, Cohen continued his story. He created another tweet that called on subscribers to donate to Help Main Street! and Feeding America, which are working to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. He also said that he wanted to auction a ball in which he walked with his lover along the street to raise money for health workers.
