What will be the iconic Macy's fireworks in New York for Independence Day this year

The 47th annual Macy's Four of July Fireworks returns to the East River on July 4th. What awaits visitors this year, said the publication ABC7NY.

Macy's will begin its signature fireworks at around 21:25 pm on Independence Day. There will be a host of dazzling special effects that will captivate audiences in New York and on television.

This year, the show will launch 60 different special effects from five barges located between 000th and 26th streets along the East River. Spectators are waiting for a 40-minute extravaganza.

"The Macy's Fireworks celebration this year is going to be spectacular," said Will Koss, executive producer of Macy's 4th of July Fireworks. “Each year, millions of spectators come together to witness a breathtaking performance on the banks of the East River, and we are ready to put on an amazing fireworks display that will fill the night sky with color, light, shape and sound. Combined with a score dedicated to American classics, this year's celebration will celebrate the pioneers who have shaped our past, present and future."

This year's signature moment with Tina Turner's The Best is when thousands of golden fireworks cascade over a mile (1,6 km) across the East River.

On July 4, Macy's fireworks can be seen anywhere with an unobstructed view of the skyline over the East River in Midtown, or from the comfort of your home. Official viewing locations under NYPD surveillance will be announced at a later date. Usually these are the embankments of Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens.
