When volunteers from the United States offered to find a new family for Volya, the Zaporozhye volunteers faced a difficult task: to collect documents and send the dog overseas. “This was my first experience of training a dog, collecting documents and organizing transportation abroad. In the fall of 2018, she flew to her new family. Now the dog's name is Jia, ”Pozdnyakova said.
Together with Volya, another 13 dogs from Zaporozhye and the region went to America. New owners were already waiting for all of them there.

It took 1,5-2 months to prepare all the necessary documents. “The process involves a team of seven or eight people. The animal must be prepared here, all vaccinations must be done in time, sterilized, issued an international veterinary passport, chipped, registered in an international database, delivered to the airport in Kiev, met there, drawn up documents, passed veterinary control, provided the necessary care before boarding the plane, etc. The flight is also very expensive, ”the volunteer explained.
In America, Jia was waiting for a completely different, happy life. In New York, she became a model for Vogue magazine. “It was a casual shoot for the fall 2018 collection, which featured fashion models and dogs taken from shelters,” the source said.
According to "Industrial Zaporozhye", in Zaporozhye and the region there is a very acute problem of stray dogs. The problem is that in Ukraine the laws that would protect the rights of animals do not work, money is not allocated for their rescue and further maintenance in volunteer shelters. As a result, hundreds of useless animals live on the streets. Zoological volunteers are trying to help stray dogs. But finding a new home and loving owners for a stray dog, which may also have health problems, is very difficult.
In America, the situation is completely different. There are practically no stray dogs on the streets, and many families are happy to take homeless animals to them.
Recall that recently 79 rescued puppies arrived from Shanghai to New York on a special flight... They were bought in Chinese markets, where animals are sold for meat, and were brought to the United States to find loving families for them here, in which the dog will be perceived as a friend.
